Possibly the very best album we have heard so far this year. 10/10.
Let's start this off by saying that I listened to the album over and over before writing this review. It's that good. Opening track 'Drinking with the Devil' pulls you in and hooks you immediately. The country vibe is there and so much more. Drawn from life experience the journey throughout is just fabulous and by the time we reach 'Me and You' I'm mesmerised. Such a beautiful track. Somewhere I'm torn between an open-top mustang screaming along Route 66 or riding across the plains on a wild stallion. 'Echos' took me to a gunfight outside a cantina and vocally the album is exceptional. My vision is to become your no. 1 themes and templates, plugins and digital goods supplier.
Hard-drinking, chain-smoking, gravel-filled voice chock full of soul and emotion. 'Lost My Soul' takes you to new heights and the spoken "Never fall in love with a gospel singer" right at the start of 'Heavenly Eyes' is inspired. We've all been where 'Monday morning blues' takes us and the insight into the human feeling is mind-blowing. Good old riot time in the cell block with 'Devil Woman' and the album is rounded off in superb style with 'Out of the Blue.' This is an album of gargantuan proportions. The songs are excellently written. The musicianship of Matt Anderson is superb. The production is excellent. As much as I love my metal, this, I would say, is the best album I've heard this year so far. Perfection.
